Donald J. Trump, the Russian agent in the White House posing as president of the United States of America, pressured Ukraine to acquiesce to a three-day ceasefire. Ukraine did so because it genuinely seeks peace and considers America its ally despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary. Ukraine sees Trump as a temporary evil and hopes that he too will pass. Hope springs eternal.
More importantly, Ukraine values the lives of its people and the ceasefire agreement included an exchange of one thousand prisoners of war. Ukraine knows how Russia treats Ukrainian POWs. Russia pays no attention to the Geneva Convention protocols and frankly does not care much about its own POWs.
The Great Patriotic War heavily relied on using human beings as cannon fodder, including many from nationalities other than Russian that comprised the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. Many Ukrainians were among that cannon fodder.
The irony here should be apparent to anyone remotely familiar with history: Russia is clearly both the descendant and progenitor of the Nazis. In fact, no nation on earth collaborated with the Nazis more effectively than the Russians did. Thanks to the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact, the Soviets and Nazis divided many Eastern European countries between themselves. The Soviets even provided the Nazis with the model for the horrible Nazi concentration camps, which were patterned after the Soviet GULAG.
The propaganda surrounding this holiday over the years has been so intense that every Russian swears they had a father or grandfather who fought in the Great Patriotic War. This also justifies all Russian crimes since the end of World War 2.
Without a doubt, many in the democratic civilized world accept this propaganda, including the current American president. So where do we go from here? During the event Russian strongman Putin guaranteed victory in the war against Ukraine. Although the ceasefire was set to last three days, Russian drones and missiles struck almost immediately after the festivities on Red Square and Putin reneged on the prisoner swap.
Trump is silent, and sanctions on Russian oil remain lifted. The Russian agent in the White House displays no irritation and remains completely loyal to his Kremlin boss. New sanctions or even the re-imposition of existing ones are not on Trump’s primitive mind.
The connection between Putin and Trump remains steadfast. What is the lesson learned? None! Vladimir Putin is a KGB colonel, psychotic liar as allowed by the Russian Orthodox Church and a war criminal. Donald J. Trump is a convicted felon, psychotic liar as per the church of Donald J. Trump. Volodymyr Zelensky is a moral and honest person obliged morally to explore every channel to protect his people who are in immediate danger including Ukrainian POWs.
Today there are no leaders of democratic countries who trust or respect Trump or America. This has to be a major concern for Americans steeped in their Constitution and morality, the rule of law and international law. During Trump’s first term he was a laughingstock throughout the world. The world thought that Americans had gone mad, but would soon wake up.
This second term has really been an eye opener for those too blind to see the evil that is Trump. Trump’s illegal ballroom now expected to cost taxpayers a billion dollars and his statue of gold at Mar-a-Lago is an eye opener of his narcissism, but the indiscriminate killings and war crimes are real evidence of America gone completely rogue. Trump continues to voice concerns about the killing of civilians, but his own murders throughout the world are beginning to compare with mass murderers in history, maybe not Mao, Stalin or Hitler, but certainly significant.
Why is America at fault? Because it persists in permitting this behavior. While Trump’s approval rating is very low, a large segment of the GOP continues to support this criminal. I am ashamed to admit that there is support, albeit minimal, within the Ukrainian American community. Even those who no longer support him are silent in their opprobrium. Those who remain silent are as complicit as those who support.
At the conclusion of the Victory festivities, Putin gave marching orders to his generals. Those orders were given to Trump as well. Trump will continue to make overtures for peace, but manifestly he will not sanction nor even criticize the Russians. He will continue to malign Ukraine for not making concessions. Ukraine will continue to fight on with moral allies on its side which consists predominately of Europe. Americans must do better. They must rid America of this cancer called Trump.
