TO THE PEOPLE OF UKRAINE

I join with the many thousands of Ukrainian citizens throughout Ukraine who have risen up in protest to condemn the decision that allows Russia to maintain its armed forces on Ukrainian soil. I share their outrage over this clear violation of the Constitution and the fundamental security interests of Ukraine. This irresponsible action will further destabilize Sevastopol and the Crimea, and pose a threat to the territorial integrity of Ukraine and its sovereignty.

Furthermore, I strongly support Ukrainians in Ukraine in their condemnation of:

- The unconstitutionally constituted parliamentary majority,
- The appointment of an illegitimate and avowedly anti-Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers,
- The relinquishing of all nuclear fissionable material to Russia and the U.S.,
- Ceding control over other strategically important assets to Russia,
- Tolerating and encouraging traitorous statements and seditious plans by the Cabinet of Ministers that:

• Challenge the constitutional status of the Ukrainian language as the official language of Ukraine,
• Threaten the territorial integrity of Ukraine by undermining national unity,
• Falsify and ridicule the epic, centuries-long resistance and ultimate victory of the Ukrainian nation over Tsarist and Communist colonial oppression and terror, and
• Deny that the Holodomor was an act of genocide against the Ukrainian people.

I share the conviction of Ukrainians in Ukraine and throughout the world that these treasonous actions will not stand, and that in the current regime's place will come a government worthy of the Ukrainian people, that will defend Ukraine's Constitution and democracy, civil society and the rule of law, territorial integrity, and national independence.
