Last summer, the Canada-Ukraine archaeological expedition continued its annual excavations in the town of Baturyn, Chernihiv oblast'. From 2001, this project has been co-sponsored by the Kowalsky Program for the Study of Eastern Ukraine and the Marusia Onyshchuk and Ivanko Kharuk Memorial Endowment Fund at the Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies (CIUS), the Yurii Kuzev Endowment at the Shevchenko Scientific Society of America (NTSh-A), and the Pontifical Institute of Mediaeval Studies (PIMS) at the University of Toronto.
